Chicken 65

Chicken 65 is a spicy, deep-fried chicken dish originating from Hotel Buhari, Chennai, India, as an entrée, or quick snack. The flavor of the dish can be attributed to red chilies, but the exact set of ingredients for the recipe can vary.

  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • ¼ turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp almond flour
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp curry leaves
  • 2 tsp lemon juices
  • 500g chicken
  • ½ tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tbsp black pepper powder
  • 3 tbsp sunflower seed powder
  • Marinate the chicken pieces with egg white, lemon juice, chilli powder, pepper powder, cumin powder and salt. Rest for 1 hour.
  • Mix  marinated chicken with almond flour, sunflower seed powder, and sesame. (Don’t rest the marinated chicken after adding sunflower seed powder)
  • Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the chicken pieces until tender and crispy. Garnish with fried curry leaf and serve hot.
