Paneer Tikka Masala

Paneer Tikka Masala is an Indian dish marinated with paneer and served in spicy gravy. It is an alternative to Chicken tikka masala.

  • 8 Cashew nut
  • 7-5 Tsp salt
  • 5 Cup curd
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1-2 Tsp turmeric powder
  • 250g Paneer
  • 5 Cup tomato
  • 1 Cup onion
  • 3 Tbsp fresh cream
  • 5 Tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2-5 Tsp garam masala
  • 2-5 Tsp red chili powder
  • 2 Tbsp coriander leaves
  • 1 Tsp dried methi
  • 5 Cup water
  • In a bowl, marinate cubed paneer with curd, 1/2 tsp red chili powder, 1 tsp ginger garlic paste, 1/2 garam masala, turmeric powder and 1/4 tsp salt. Mix well.
  • Optional- If you are using onion and 1/2 cubed bell pepper with paneer.
  • TO make tikka on griddle, Heat 1 tsp olive oil in a wide pan over high heat, lace paneer over the griddle. Cook until paneer turns golden.
  • Or to make tikka in oven, preheat the oven 430 F to 220 C. Thread paneer to a skewers and grill for 10-20 minutes until golden.
  • To make masala, heat 1 Tbsp. butter in a pan over medium flame Add chopped onion and a sauté until translucent.
  • Add chopped tomatoes, cashew, and 1/2 tsp salt. Sauté until tomatoes turns soft and mushy.
  • Tip: You can use almonds instead of cashew.
  • Add 3/4 tsp garam masala. Sauté for 2 minutes. Turn off the heat. Add water and grind into fine paste.
  • Heat 1 tbsp. butter in a pan over medium heat. Add ginger garlic paste and sauté until fragrant.
  • Lower the heat, add ground paste and 3/4 cup water. Cover and cook until gravy thickens.
  • Add dried methi, paneer tikka, and mix well. Garnish with fresh cream and coriander leaves.
