Ribbon Pakoda

Ribbon pakoda, also known as ribbon murukku, is a fried snack made with ragi flour, besan, and spices like chili powder and cumin.

  • 1 Cup Ragi flour
  • 1/2 Cup Besan
  • 1 Tsp salt
  • 2 Tbsp coconut oil
  • 1Tsp black pepper powder
  • 1 Tsp cumin powder
  • 1 Tsp red chilli powder
  • 5 Tsp chia seed powder
  • 1 Pinch asafoetida/hing
  • 1 Tbsp water
  • 4 Cup sunflower seed powder
  • Mix all the ingredients except coconut oil and knead to make a dough.
  • Roll out the dough and cut into thin strips to our liking.
  • Place the ribbon pakoda in the murukku maker.
  • Heat kadhai with oil on medium flame. 
  • Now, place the dough in the maker and place it directly into the oil.
  • Flip over the ribbon pakoda on both sides till golden brown. 
  • Serve hot with accompaniment or chutney.
